Arctic Frontiers 2013

Geopolitics in the High North concluding conference Geopolitics in a Changing Arctic will be held from January 23 until January 25 as a part of Arctic Frontiers 2013.

Geopolitics in a Changing Arctic addresses the issues of security, energy and interstate relations in the Arctic. 

Key-note speakers include Sven G. Holtsmark, Paal S. Hilde, Arild Moe and Petra Dolata-Kreutzkamp.  

Arctic Frontiers 2013 will be held at the University of Tromsø, Norway from Sunday 20 to Friday 25 January 2013.  The theme of the conference is 'Geopolitics and Marine Production  in a Changing Arctic'. 

As with previous years the policy section will run for the first two days (Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 January 2013) followed by a three days science session (Wednesday 23 January to Friday 25 January).  The science section will have three parts:

  1. Geopolitics in a Changing Arctic
  2. Marine harvesting in the Arctic
  3. Arctic Marine Productivity

Programme leader Rolf Tamnes will present programme conclusions on the first day of Arctic Frontiers.
